a bitch of a city.
bangkok has been teaching us the hard way that lauren and i need to be more discerning about the people we trust. let’s just say that on the swindle chart bangkok’s up 2 to 0.
this place is very different than lauren and i imagined. hot, oppressive and filled with smiling, smoking and shirtless people trying to take your money. there are 7-11’s on every other corner and wats...

we're here.
turns out if you hop onto a plane and fly 15 hours and then 4 on another you can end up in bangkok.
where it’s really hot and really sticky and where your time is so messed up you feel like a zombie in the middle of the day.
hooray!
also. i took a piss going 600 miles per hour almost 7 miles over the pacific ocean.
technology.
moving.
these boxes upset my stomach and i don’t know what to do about the ache. it’s not just my stomach, but my heart. yesterday i sat on cold sand watching grey waves crash over a pier. ocean foam strained by seaweed blew up in the wind. my life is not my own.

i just got back from spending a lot of time in a tent shivering out in california’s eastern desert. surprisingly enough, four straight days of drinking and rain and sleep staved off by wild mexican pigs and 35 degree temperatures equals feeling like death. i’ll post more pictures soon.
cloudy with a certainty of rain.
i like talking about the weather.
plans.
i have a job in surat thani, thailand.
i will be leaving in two weeks.
i will be there for over a year.

it's getting brighter and brighter these days.
the world would be a better place if we all just stopped to realize what a giant bunch of crazy assholes we are. if you don’t know my friend john zappas, you should probably get to know him. www.johnzanezappas.com we have conversations sometimes. some are good. others are not. but most are.
everyone.
and by everyone i mean you damnit.
should read 2666.
regressing.
allow me to self indulge for just one sentence.
two potential job offers in thailand equals eff yeah.
that was actually two sentences i guess. that’s all.
this same fog
tonight a fog rolled down the east side of Point Loma. it sank slowly and laid out over the bay. a sail boat moved almost silently and after it was swallowed, a metal sound came sharply through the grey veil when the sail was lowered. last summer we swam across this channel where the fog is coming down now. navigating the fast and slows of boats passing through. sprinting a few yards then...
an afterthought.
in this way it is not the same.
